The Statnews post is damning. US health has suffered enormously these last two years:
Americans born in 2021 can expect to live for just 76.1 years — the lowest life expectancy has been since 1996, according to a new government analysis published Wednesday. This is the biggest two-year decline — 2.7 years in total — in almost 100 years.
The Covid-19 pandemic is the primary cause of this decline. However, increases in the number of people dying from overdoses and accidents is also a significant factor...
But just the last few days Australian governments have reversed major health protections for our peoples -- reducing COVID isolation periods from 7 to 5 days after diagnosis, and allowing facemask-less air travel.
Just when we are undergoing the worst rate of COVID mortality since the epidemic started.
Sure, overall this last year, we are still better in Australia than most countries.
As best shown here:
But recent months have witnessed a simply terrible Australian COVID mortality performance:
We are worse even than the USA.
Albo, Dan, Ross, please explain. Explain it so a 5-year old can understand.
