Good Financial Times article on "Why UK coronavirus deaths are falling even as cases are rising?"

The Financial Times have a great discussion about fatality rates showing improving trends in Britain over recent months. They make it legally intimidating to share even a snippet of the text, but the article is free to read,  so here is the link.

Perhaps the best snippet is their treatment of hospital discharge statistics for coronavirus patients.

They show graphically that the ratio of good outcomes to death outcomes has a trend to improved outcome at discharge over time.

What's encouraging about the article as a whole is they are leaving the overall cause of mortality improvement as an open question.

Quite possibly it's a combination of several factors, including currently infection occurring among younger people rather than the elderly getting infected.
